Dissolve yeast in water with sugar. Sift flour and salt together; then mix egg and oil together. Mix egg mixture with yeast and half the flour. Beat with a wooden spoon until smooth. Mix in the remaining flour and beat until smooth. Knead; cover and let the dough rise until double in size about 10 minutes. Punch dough down and knead until smooth and place in greased pan. Spread butter on the top of the bread. Let rise 30 minutes. Bake until brown. If using a Dutch oven - 12 minutes with the coals on the top and bottom. Then finish with coals just on top.
